While waiting to pick Jason up from the airport, we spent most of the day roadschooling 🙂
We have thoroughly enjoyed Grizzly RV Park and West Yellowstone! It will be missed greatly! It was wonderful being able to walk to downtown West Yellowstone, and be only a 2 minute drive to the West Entrance of the park. We highly recommend Grizzly RV Park and hope to one day return to this beautiful, amazing part of our country!

Off to Missoula, Montana in the morning to spend the day/night half way to Glacier!
One of the neatest areas of Yellowstone (to us) are the Artists Paint Pots and hike! I know we keep saying how crazy it is to see these ancient sites, but this was pretty unreal!
Almost ready to give someone a thermal mud bath it sounds like! Amazing!
We were wondering what the Indians thought when they discovered this area, and what could have happened here so long ago…
Hebgen Lake … the haze in the background is being caused by a current wildfire in the park…so sad!
What a way to end the day! Better late than never… 🌝
When you are on a great horse, you have the best seat you will ever have.

While Jason flew out early this morning to Elkhart, Indiana for work, we decided to do something he absolutely does not like, but we love to do! After seeing the photos, we hope he changes his mind! He’s been “double dared!”
The rest of the day was spent exploring West Yellowstone, and of course a little school 😌
Grizzly and Wolf DiscoveryYellowstone visitors! 2020
We started the day at 5am 😅 to head to the far Northeast to Lamar Valley…along with several stops, of course.

Okay…wildlife time!
Buffalo Jam…several had to cross the road …we didn’t mind waiting ❤️ 🐃 Mammoth Springs…cows and bucks roam all over the town here!
“Just Ahead“ App!
The is a must purchase! The app works offline when you have no service (there is basically NO service inside Yellowstone). It’s your own personal tour guide; for not only Yellowstone, but every National Park! We love listening to everything “just ahead”… so much history, places to stop…advice on wildlife…etc! 😍
“Just Ahead” gave us a fantastic alternate route…not without “warning that the one lane, two way, 6 mile (30 minute), jaunt is not for the faint of driver” …Blacktail Plateau Drive…The jeep may need new shocks, but it was worth it! We only saw one other car! We learned that this was the first road in Yellowstone! It was created by the Indians over 10,000 years ago…and was the only way around the area for years…hard to believe!
Blacktail Road break…Yes, my bear spray was ready if I needed to rescue Jason out there 🐻Working on trying to find that bear…had the river to ourselves! Mammoth Hot Springs…that’s not ice…it’s travertine! Some reading this may know more ;)…but on the other hand, this town still has the same vibe, if you can believe it.One of many “Chocolate Pots”
Learning about the history that created Yellowstone has been amazing; volcanoes, glaciers, earthquakes, wildfires…have truly amazed us! It’s been an awesome day being able to drive through and walk on this ancient, beautiful, God-given land!
Catching up! Grand Prismatic, Midway Geyser Basin, Fairy Falls, Old Faithful…and a little evening fishing on the Madison…
The weather is perfect! Winter gear at sunrise to shorts at lunchtime. (28 degrees to 86 on average)
Sunrise at the basins
Video by Olivia of the Basin Area…”so cool…the ground is erupting…it will disintegrate anything that touches it” Grand Prismatic : at 30 degrees…Unbelievable that this just exists…still today!
